Hello all. Sorry for being out of touch. Life has been — well, life — recently. A couple of things of note:

  • My shipping manager has been out for over a week. He’s currently interviewing/auditioning in Boston and Ohio (parts unknown) in search of where his doctorate work will occur.
  • I am preparing for the needs assessment stage for my next client.
  • Rediscovering the shallow realms of what .Net/ASP/etc CMSs have become.
  • My brother is in Belize for a much needed vacation. Lucky duck. As such, I’ve been coordinating my mother’s care in and out of her home in Tampa. This morning I was once again brought to the doorstep of her death only to discover that paraprofessionals are definitely not professional. Maybe I’ll write up something on customer service vis a vis facts.
  • Fnerd was up for renewal and I sort of forgot. Tackling that ended up being a strange tale of what CBD calls “DNS dark magic”.
  • Moving a friend into her new first home. Congrats Laurie.
  • My usual clients.
  • Watching Lost In Translation, again, and marveling.
  • Looking for a house — any house!!! — that we can afford in the Leon and Wakulla county areas.
  • Being a daddy to a very 3 and a half year old.
  • Grieving the loss of my beloved uncle and my son’s namesake, Oliver.
  • Putting all of the above in the context of life.
  • Enjoying Seminole baseball (sorry Brad, I know it’s baseball).

I have some web 3.0 thoughts I need to get out there but I keep expanding the scope to the point where it’ll be more of a dissertation than a post. Let’s just say it involves the Tower of Babel.

I also want to scream and curse about the Buc’s FA signings of Garcia and Carter.

Finally, the 10 year anniversary of my dad’s death is coming up so it is certainly a time of reflection.

For now, pardon me while I get some sleep.
